Maintenance Manager

Summary

The Maintenance Manager serves as the leader to support all maintenance activity. Establishes standardized maintenance processes and leads improvement activities. Develops best practices in predictive and preventive maintenance programs. Supports equipment installations, repairs, and upgrades. Develops and implements training and development programs to build and maintain skill levels of associates involved in equipment maintenance, repair, and installation.

Duties/ Responsibilities \include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to: 
  • Organizing, implementing and directing the activities of the maintenance department at the mine-site to establish effective maintenance management systems and achieve “superior” maintenance standards
  • Developing and managing the maintenance budget
  • Ensuring all activities in the maintenance department follow environment and safety legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines and ISO standards
  • Establishing a positive working environment by conducting and participating in activities that contribute to an effective working relationship with all employees; 
  • Promoting teamwork and employee development through effective communication and implementing and monitoring performancestandards; 
  • Assuming other duties and/or responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstances and the economic and physical environment of the Company
  • Overseeing and front-line supervisory efforts to coordinate efforts between crews
  • Instilling positive safety culture and lead by example.

Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Have a minimum of 5+ years of related mining experience preferably in a managerial/supervisory role
  • Possess a Journeyman's Trade certificate, or an Engineering Technologist diploma or mechanical Engineering degree; however, other combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Have knowledge of mining and processing equipment and installations, as well as, experience and intimate knowledge of safety procedures
  • Possess an understanding of various maintenance software tools
  • Can learn quickly and maintain motivation even in the face of inevitable delays, setbacks, and policy, shift and schedule changes.

Project Engineer

Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. Schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
 
Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Comply with GMA Mining USA and government safety, health and environmental rules, conditions, and licenses
  • Ensure that all site employees, contractors, and visitors comply with GMA Mining USA site rules and policies
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
  • Set a good example to other employees, particularly regarding safety and health
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by your Manager.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Proven working experience as a Project Engineer
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills
  • Current engineer license preferred but not required
  • Time management and organization skills
  • BS degree in Engineering or relevant field.

Mine Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with continuous improvements in drilling and blasting designs with assurance of compliance to mining regulations and site standards
  • Provide high level of accurate surveying to the mining and processing operations
  • Research and advise geotechnical concerns and issues
  • Assist with the preparation of geologic and mine modeling
  • Participate in geological surveys, assessments and assay programs
  • Practice and encourage good employee/management communication and morale
  • Present a positive and professional image for GMA Mining USA

  • Contribute actively to toolbox meetings
  • Assist with the preparation of end-of-month reports

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or related field (preferred)
  • Mine Engineer:  3-5 years’ experience preferred but not required
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with GMA Mining USA’s mining and processing operations, or similar operations
  • People management skills that encourage good communication, morale and productivity
  • Responsible attitude towards health, safety and environmental management
  • Microsoft Office skills 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Environmental Engineer

Summary
  • Responsibilities include maintaining and complying with all Federal, State and Company Environmental Licenses, Permits, Plans, Rights and Leases to effectively operate GMA Mining USA
  • Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Commitment to safety, along with adherence to GMA’s Life Saving Rules and GMA’s policies and procedures

  • Comply with GMA Mining USA and government safety, health and environmental rules, conditions, and licenses

  • Ensure Environmental Management System conforms to the requirements of ISO
  • Regulate/Ensure compliance with varying permits such as, AS, SPCC, SWPP, PWSP and Air Quality
  • Perform fieldwork that may include water monitoring, flow meter readings, ground water sampling and opacity readings
  • Management and preparation of technical reports which include but are not limited to: Minor revisions and annual progress reports
  • Communicate regularly with manager
  • Positively interact with appropriate agencies, contractors, and vendors
  • Install and maintain data collection instruments
  • Continuous improvement of skillset and knowledge of environmental department through training and experience
  • Development of policies and procedures to aid in the growth of GMA Mining USA’s environmental department

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Environmental Engineer B.S. or degree in related field
  • Minimum Two years related work experience preferred
  • Experience and confidence working around heavy equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Responsible attitude and approach towards safety and environmental management

Plant Operator - Dry Process

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of forklifts and skid steer to load trucks and move product
  • Safe and efficient operation of Front-End Loader to feed dry plant
  • Perform all work in a satisfactory manner as instructed by Supervisor or more senior staff
  • Promptly report any accidents, incidents or potential hazards to Supervisor or more senior staff
  • Assist with plant operation and maintenance when needed and as directed by more senior staff
  • Maintain a clean working environment
  • Present a positive and attentive image for GMA Mining USA
  • Cooperate with and be courteous to other employees
  • Comply with GMA Mining USA safety, health and environmental requirements as per the Employee Handbook plus any other employee-issued policies and procedures

Plant Operator - Wet Process

  • Assist with plant operation and maintenance when needed and as directed by more senior staff
  • Maintain a clean working environment

Requirements 
  • Completion of Wet Process Operator Training
  • Able to perform thorough walk-through of the plant to learn what to listen for, be aware of, and what to look for.  Good understanding of how often to do this and establish a routine
  • Be able to identify a problem in the plant and notify responsible person of any issues
  • Relieve loader operator or plant operator as needed, depending on competency
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrating sound judgement in work performed
  • Consistent work quality and performance, displaying a positive attitude
  • Attention to detail in all tasks
  • Ability to properly follow directions and efficiently manage work time
