Fairless Hills, PA – June 27, 2017 – Global garnet company GMA Garnet USA (GMA) launched its high-tech processing plant.

The repurposing of the former steel plant for product processing will invigorate the complex and riverfront industrial use.

The plant was unveiled by company leaders – GMA CEO Stephen Gobby, GMA Garnet USA President Rod Liebeck, and Joseph Burke, Deputy Secretary of International Business Development for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The processing plant launch in the 230,000 square foot facility will enable the company to process raw garnet concentrate to the highest standards within the country. Operating at full capacity, the plant can produce over 250,000 tons of garnet abrasives per annum. Moreover, the plant is equipped with the latest wet recycling technology that produces the highest quality recycled garnet in the market.

The finished products are packaged and will be distributed to both the American market, and the garnet abrasive industry worldwide.
GMA’s source of garnet comes from its hard rock garnet mine in Alder, Montana and internationally sourced supplies from Western Australia and South Africa.

GMA Garnet™ abrasives are widely used in the surface preparation industry for various applications, from removing resistant coatings and heavy rust to polishing glass and delicate restoration work. It is also the preferred abrasive medium in the waterjet cutting industry for delivering fast and precise cutting on any material from metals, granite and ceramics to glass and wood.
